Publisher Helps Pastors Turn Sermons Into Bestselling Books
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, November 3 /Christian Newswire/ -- After ghostwriting and editing more than 200 published books, several which have become national bestsellers, Neil Eskelin, publisher of LifeBridge Books, has announced a major expansion of the five-year-old company to help pastors turn their sermon series into nationally distributed books.
Says Eskelin, "There are outstanding messages being preached in pulpits every week that deserve to have a much wider audience." He believes the two hurdles most pastors face is that they don't have time to write, and if they have a manuscript completed the odds are extremely slim that it will be accepted by a publisher.
"Some pastors have tried self-publishing their books through a digital print-on-demand service," observes Eskelin, "but the cost per book makes it virtually impossible for the book to be handled by a national distributor who has sales representatives."
The economic model announced by LifeBridge includes the writing (either from sermon transcripts or a rough draft), editing, designing, printing, promotion and national distribution in one package. The only cost to the author is to take a set number of the original printing at a fifty percent discount of the retail price, which then increases to an eighty percent discount. Plus, they receive royalties of up to twenty percent on all national sales. All LifeBridge titles are distributed by STL Distribution, the world's largest Christian book distributor.
Says Eskelin, "We are thrilled to see many of our books on the shelves of Barnes & Noble, Borders, Wal-Mart, plus the major Christian bookstore chains."
Pastors and authors wishing more information can email Neil Eskelin, neil@neileskelin.com, or phone LifeBridge Books, Charlotte, NC, 704-408-8892.
