Family Touched by Spina Bifida Strives to Touch Others
HOUSTON, April 17 /Christian Newswire/ -- Cinenosin Film Academy and Robert Oakley of Oak Tree Meadow Productions are proud to announce the first independent Christian film produced by a student of the academy. The film can be viewed here. Robert Oakley's younger brother Reece was born with Spina Bifida. The five minute film is based on a chain of events sparked by an actual news broadcast concerning Reece. Robert Oakley, the producer, director, screenwriter, and editor, explains the film is about "a young man who struggles with pain is faced with bringing a child into the world who will suffer. Feeling that terminating the life before it could begin is the natural choice, he later finds that life no matter the circumstance has value and purpose by the power, grace, and love of Jesus Christ." Reece Oakley was one year old when the events occurred. Now twelve years old, he was the microphone boom operator for the film.
The film was the result of an idea that Mr. Oakley has been developing for several years. From this small beginning, he has started pre-production to produce a full-length version for possible theatrical release. His mentor Robert Brayton, cinematographer, and founder of Cinenosin Film Academy said, "I am very proud of all the students at the academy. Rob [Oakley] has done an exceptional job for a newly graduated student." Mr. Oakley received the Certified Christian Filmmaker certificate from the academy on December 6, 2007. This film may possibly earn Mr. Oakley a scholarship at Regent University. He is hoping many will watch the film on GodTube and leave their comments and ratings, but more importantly that many hearts will be touched by this poignant true story.
Cinenosin is pronounced sin-eh-NO-sin.
