Christian Film, 'Standing Firm' Continues Production Along with the Church of its Creators

LEWISTON, Ny., Aug. 3 /Christian Newswire/ -- Praise Pictures Inc. and the church of the companies owners, are continuing production of their first Christian feature Standing Firm. Praise Pictures Inc. CEO and Executive Producer Kyle Prohaska states, "Christian film is a medium largely untapped when compared to secular media. Now more than ever, Christians have the technology and means available to create impacting and uplifting films that can reach the world for Christ. We are committed to fulfilling that calling."

The film is being created much like the films Facing the Giants and Flywheel. With volunteer actors and a low budget, but with a motivated and committed cast and crew who's goal is to honor the Lord with their talents, and allow the Him to bring the Blessing.

Standing Firm plans to put a different spin on the norm in Christian filmmaking. Kyle Prohaska describes the film as, "the kind of story you wish you saw after a lot of films are over. We have the film start following the usual pattern where a character eventually comes to know the Lord (like many other films), but we take him on the journey afterwards. We want to not only bring him to salvation, but show some of the struggles new Christians deal with. It's something that hasn't been seen much in Christian film, and we hope to bring it to the forefront."

The film is the intense story of widower and construction business owner David Corwin, who has recently lost his wife in a car accident and has thrown the Church and family out the window. Steven (David's older son), attempts to help his father deal with his pain in a healthy manner but their conflicting views on God and the Church create a difficult family battle, especially with Steven's position in ministry. Steven learns to stand firm on the truth of Gods Word and be a Christian example to his father and show him his need for God, and the love and peace that can follow, regardless of his fathers disconnected and antisocial behavior.

Praise Pictures Inc. is continuing shooting for approximately another month, and plans to complete the film in the coming months.
