Olympic Challenge Brings Double Blessings and Eternal Consequences

Olympic Challenge Brings Double Blessings and Eternal Consequences

VENTURA, Calif., Aug. 5 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Summer Games begin this week focusing all eyes on Beijing. Gospel Light Worldwide has issued an Olympic challenge that carries double blessings and eternal consequences.

Gospel Light Worldwide has been preparing for China since 2003. Gospel Light Worldwide helps children enter and grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through culturally relevant, locally published Bible resources and teacher training.

Recently, Gospel Light Worldwide received a $50,000 commitment to help bring God's Word to the children of China but there was a hook. The contributor will only give GLW the $50,000 when they raise another $50,000 in new gifts.

The GLW goal is to raise the $50,000 before the closing ceremony of the Beijing Summer Olympics on August 24. Gospel Light Worldwide President Marc Stein continued, "Achieving this goal will be better than winning the gold because the reward is eternal. Our hope is that others will stand victorious with us."

Outside the United States, there is a serious lack of children's Bible teaching materials and teacher training. Local pastors, evangelists and church planters from developing world churches are reaching out for help. As a result, children are rapidly emerging as one of the leading international ministry priorities.

With as many children in China as there are all people in the United States, Stein considers it a "double blessing." He said, "Each dollar received will be doubled, helping twice as many children in China enter and grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through culturally relevant, age appropriate Bible curriculum and teacher training. We know the Lord is rousing the hearts of people right now for this Olympic challenge."

Gospel Light Worldwide is the not-for-profit 501(c)3 sister ministry to Gospel Light and Regal Books based in Ventura, California. They are currently participating in 16 international projects focused in four key regions of the world: Asia, Eastern Europe/Former Soviet Union, the Middle East and Africa.

For only $1 per child, Gospel Light Worldwide can translate, provide the teacher training, print the appropriate study materials, deliver the lessons and provide evaluation for an entire year.
