Memory Cross Partners with LifeWay Christian Stores and Need Him Ministries this Halloween to Fulfill Jesus' Commission to Go Into All the World and Preach the Gospel
WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 /Christian Newswire/ -- Jesus' great commission to his followers is: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
One company is trying to do that this Halloween with a very unique card.
Halloween is normally a time when children get dressed up and receive lots of candy. Memory Cross, a Christian-based company headed by Reverend Andy Lambert, is asking Christians to give their Trick-or-Treaters the Good News of the gospel as well.
Using a very clever folding card that he developed several years ago, Andy is asking Christian parents to not only hand out candy but to give kids this card which shares the gospel message in a way that is nothing short of amazing.
Part of the message on the card reads:
Free Candy! That's what Halloween is all about! Just dress up in a costume, say, "Trick or Treat!" and get Free Candy! What could be better than that? God's Love! That's the sweetest Gift of all! The rest of the message walks them through God's plan for their lives and leads them to NeedHim.org if they want more information.
If churches want to join in by inviting people to their church, Reverend Lambert has created the card so that information about the church can be printed on the back of the card.
When asked about the idea for the Halloween card, Pastor Lambert responded, "Halloween is the only time of the year when neighborhood kids come knocking on our doors. As a Christian, I wanted to give them more than candy; I wanted to give them something that could change their lives forever. From this idea came the Halloween Memory Cross. What makes this tract different is its unique design. When you put this card into the hands of kids, they will be fascinated with it and read it over and over," says Pastor Lambert.
Since parents inspect all candy, they too will receive the gospel message. The card is so unique that even people who do not believe agree that this card is a great way to get the message out. One response that was received upon showing the card said this: "I received the cards and was like a kid at Christmas. I showed them to all I came in contact with and got the same reaction. I even took them to work and showed them to some nonbelievers. Their response was no different. One young lady said, 'What a great way to get the Word out.' I was astounded as to her response since she was not a Christian."
The cards are available at all LifeWay stores or on the Memory Cross website at www.memorycross.com or by calling 888-738- 5545.
