OFT appoints Senior Director of Cartels and Criminal Enforcement
LONDON. April 7, 2008/3mnewswire.org/ -- The OFT has appointed Simon Williams as Senior Director of Cartels and Criminal Enforcement.
Prior to this appointment, Simon was the OFT's Director of Cartel Investigations for four and a half years, having previously worked for the Serious Fraud Office and HM Customs and Excise. Since joining the OFT, Simon has led on a number of high-profile cartel cases and has overseen a number of key developments in cartel enforcement such as the reform of the OFT's leniency policy under which companies can gain immunity for reporting cartel activity, and the introduction of an 'informant reward' programme which makes financial incentives available for information about cartels.
In this new role, Simon will continue to head up civil and criminal cartel enforcement but the job will also embrace the OFT's additional criminal consumer enforcement responsibilities to be introduced by the new Consumer Protection Regulations.
