CWA President and Leaders Participate in the National Day of Prayer
WASHINGTON, April 30 /Christian Newswire/ -- This Thursday, May 1, will mark the 57th annual National Day of Prayer. Events will take place across the nation to unite individuals in prayer for America. This year's theme is "Prayer! America's Strength and Shield."
Concerned Women for America (CWA) President Wendy Wright and CWA state leaders will participate in National Day of Prayer events around the country to inspire every American to seek God's favor.
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It exists to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America's leaders and families. The governors of all 50 states have issued proclamations for the National Day of Prayer.
CWA President Wendy Wright will deliver the keynote address at the DuPage National Day of Prayer in DuPage, Illinois.
Shari Rendall, CWA's Director of Legislation and Public Policy, will attend a special ceremony in the White House Rose Garden.
CWA of Maine Area Director Penny Morrell will be praying for families at noon under the tent in Capitol Park, Augusta. She will present the keynote address at an event in Belgrade at 6:30 p.m.
CWA of North Carolina Prayer Chapter Coordinator Sheri Miller will participate in the National Day of Prayer service, hosted by First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.
CWA of Louisiana State Director Sancha Haysbert- Smith is co-sponsoring a National Day of Prayer event with 89.9 FM AFR.net at the Lafayette City Hall to pray for our government.
CWA of New Mexico State Director Gayle Davis will be attending a luncheon and roundtable discussion in Santa Fe on how Christian leaders in the state can work together to mobilize Christians in New Mexico to register and vote their values on Election Day in November.
CWA state leaders in Massachusetts, Virginia, Missouri, Iowa and more will be attending prayer events at their local courthouse and city hall.
